Water baptism

Your public decision to follow Jesus and the start of a new life.

Water baptism

Water baptism is one of the most important and beautiful moments on the journey of faith. It's your personal decision and a public declaration that you want to follow Jesus.

When is the next baptism? You'll find the dates in our events calendar.

If you have received Jesus into your heart and want to take this step, we'd love to help you prepare for baptism and walk alongside you.

What baptism means

What baptism symbolizes

The Bible compares baptism to burial and resurrection. When you go under the water, you symbolically bury your old way of life without God. When you come up out of the water, you begin a new life with Jesus – with forgiveness, a clear conscience and a new identity.

“We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.”

— Romans 6:4

By being baptized, you follow the example of Jesus himself. He was baptized in the Jordan River and sent his disciples to make more disciples and baptize them (Matthew 28:19).

Who it's for

Who is baptism for?

Baptism is for everyone who has personally put their faith in Jesus, received him as their Lord and Savior and wants to follow him in everyday life – in their family, at work and in their relationships.

God is looking for a sincere heart. You can take this step no matter how long you've believed or how much you know about the Bible.

How it works

How it works at our church

We hold baptisms regularly, and they are among the most joyful days of the year – the whole church celebrates with you. Before your baptism, we'll invite you to a short, informal meeting over coffee. We'll go through what baptism means and how the day works, and answer all your questions. Please bring:

A change of dry clothes

A towel

A dark T-shirt
